[PURE PERFECTION] I’m a huge fan of the good old interlinked ‘C’s’, and I usually favour the classics, but this bright green lego clutch from Uncle Karl Lagerfeld’s Spring 2013 collection has my heart. Adding this to my ‘One day when I’m dripping in Chanel…’ list.
[NOTE TO SELF] Love this.
I’m so doing this! Starting TODAY!
[MY FAVOURITE THING TODAY] Loving Jessie J’s album, ‘Who You Are’, especially Price Tag, feat B.O.B, Big White Room and Do it like a Dude. Worth the listen.
This is why I’m planning on dusting off those knitting needles and making a snood. How yummy. I also forgot where I found this picture, but I’m guessing I found it on Facehunter, maybe?
My colleague Cheska was so evangelical about Asos’s March magazine, I had to mosey on over there to check it out. I’m trying to stay away from that site because it’s so addictive, dangerous and damaging to my little piece of plastic.
The March magazine takes a look at the big trends for Spring/ Summer 2011 and it put a huge smile on my face (and made me a bit sad that we’ll soon be entering Winter in SA).
Cover girl Daisy Lowe looks absolutely amazing in her shoot:
‘My dream is to see a lot more female shapes in ad campaigns when I look through magazines. It’s slightly moving that way. I love watching Lara Stone, she’s amazing, but my friend was working with Crystal Renn and said she thinks she’s only got a 38-inch hip. Karl Lagerfeld said he was going to embrace her womanly shape and then he just put her face on the ad campaign. Girls are starting to have tits in pictures, but I think it still needs to be about the curve. I’d love to do the Jean Paul Gaultier and the Givenchy shows. Their appreciation of the female structure is amazing, the way they cater to a woman’s body is beautiful. Real women have hips and an arse, yet loads of models in shows seem to have neither.’
‘Most of my wardrobe is taken up by white floaty or long floral dresses I like to dress like a fairy and a doll quite a lot, but I do like wearing black too. I don’t think I have a particular style, I think I go for a lot of different things.’
‘I’ve learnt a lot from modelling. I’m a lot more tolerant. And it’s taught me to be bold and be true to myself in a massive way. All the times I’ve been really upset with my fashion choices were when I was letting other people rule over me. It’s made me bloody resilient, too, a Trojan, strong as hell, and all the travelling has made me more of an adventurer.’
Some of the other shoots were also phenomenal:
And I’m looking forward to looking like a box of Smarties come Spring time. Yay!
