Solange Knowles looked divine in a yellow strapless Rachel Roy number
Amy Poehler looked uber-glam in Fotini
January Jones looked possibly the best I’ve ever seen her in this interesting structural Versace number
Sofia Vergara looked sexy as ever in Marchesa
Eva Mendes sparkled in Prada
And Emma Roberts in trendy yellow, wore Escada.

Amanda Seyfried sports Prada on the June 2011 cover of ELLE South Africa.
Prada’s officially dominated the Northern hemisphere’s Spring/ Summer magazine cover wars with a whopping 77 magazine covers, according to Fashionista. Yes, there are actually people who count these things. Of course, this doesn’t include the syndicated covers, such as the international editions of big name magazines like ELLE and Marie Claire.

Personally, I think Prada’s collection of stripes, brights, bananas, huge hats and Baroque prints was so successful because it just screamed ‘Summer!’, ‘Fun!’, ‘Youth!’ and ‘Optimism!’.And I’ll admit that I’m a total Prada fangirl.
The collection that didn’t take itself too seriously; it was whimsical, but grown up and sexy enough to not make us feel like kids when wearing any bright/ stripes.
The second runner up in the cover wars was Gucci with 69 covers:

Again, I think the popularity came down to the use of colour (look at how often the colour-blocked green, purple and turquoise was used).
Third place belongs to Dolce & Gabbana with 63 covers:

Not bad for a primarily white collection. For me, this also speaks to the psyche behind youth & summer crispness.
[MY FAVOURITE THING TODAY] Nailspiration. I’m totally bananas about this (sorry, couldn’t help the cheese)…
That’s so bananas: London based salon, Wah-Nails, created a banana mani inspired by Prada’s S/S 2011 collection. Hmm…
