[MY FAVOURITE THING TODAY] I think my love for South African fast fashion retailer Mr Price is pretty well known by now. But how can I not love them when their media communication is just so very on point?
Today, the seventeam received a press release/ save the date/ challenge from Mr Price HQ. A pair of skinny jeans and enough DIY goodies to start our own craft shop. The challenge: create a bespoke pair of seventeen jeans that’ll be used in a denim installation on 14 November.
How clever, right?
The seventeam is sure to have LOADS of fun with this one. Thanks Mr Price.

[WHAT J WORE TODAY] Elevator pics are the new bathroom pics, hmmkay? Love this ‘Bikes & Ponies’ Amber Jones for Mr Price T. Paired it with a red pencil skirt from Edgars and the hair sparkle from Sass Diva.

[FASHION!] The best is yet to come

It’s no secret that I adore Amber Jones. She’s all kinds of awesome. So I’m really excited to announce that her range with Mr Price - called The Best is Yet to Come - hits stores on 25th JULY! Yes, on Monday! Pay day! Holla!

Amber sat down with ELLE South Africa’s Jenna McArthur to chat about the range and here’s some of what she had to say:

We love the range, how would you describe it?

Wow. Hard one. A rather-odd-in-a-good-way schoolgirl who often wears her dad’s clothes from the seventies…

Tell us about the colours and fabrics used?

I was having a love affair with texture when I designed it so I chose chunky knits, linen suitings, printed woven viscose and faux fur for warmth and added denim and cotton twills for contrast. The colour palette is very earthy, with splashes of navy and warm burnt oranges.

What sets this range apart from others?

Little details like elbow patches, paper-bag waist detail, statement buttons and raw reversed hems. I really wanted the girl who wears these clothes to feel we cared about how she felt in them.

Everything in this range is completely wantable and the price point makes it imminently gettable. Look how cute:

On my shopping list:

  • Printed harem pants - R139.99
  • Boyfriend blazer - R199.99
  • Cardi - R129.99
  • Denim bustier - R79.99
  • Printed shirt - R119.99

Actually, who am I kidding? Something tells me I’m going to buy more than that :) Congratulations, Amber!
