[MAG FAB] My current music crush, Elle Varner, stars in the Spring 2012 cover shoot for AMMO magazine.

When asked what’s next for the songstress, she said:

I see myself being at the very very very very very top of the music game period but especially as a R&B singer. I think it’s time to take it back to the days when R&B was dominating and you had your Whitney Houston’s and your Mariah Carey’s and it was all good. I miss those days and I think it’s time for a change. I strongly feel that I’m a contender for that position.

[MAG FAB] Zoe Kravitz, who is on the cover of Nylon magazine alongside Bella Heathcote and Juno Temple, doesn’t really care about being a polished Hollywood princess… As if we couldn’t have guessed, right? Her take on her personal style: I feel like everyone thinks that everyone should look the same - clean cut. If I go to a party and my hair’s messy and my shirt’s ripped or whatever, it’s like, ‘She’s a crackhead.’ I’m like, ‘Do I have to look like a fucking perfect Barbie doll?’ The cool thing about fashion is that if you do it right, it’s an art form and it’s a way to express yourself. Here’s what she says about the fame game: I think because of the Internet and everyone’s obsession with celebrity and paparazzi and blogs and phones being hacked, we have an incredible amount of access to other people’s lives. People now expect more than a performance. They expect to know what you do and what you’re wearing and who you’re fucking and what you ate that day and what time you took a shit… [When I was at Jennifer Lawrence’s house] she was like, “Can we just stay home and watch TV all night? I can’t leave my house.” And I was like, “Jen, I’m not going to bullshit you. This isn’t going away tomorrow.” Pic via.

[MAG FAB] Tracee Ellis Ross, one of my personal style and hair icons, covers Uptown magazine and looks ah-ma-zing. She discusses her life, her mother, her friendship with Kanye West and her career. We adore her.

“As a younger person, my philosophy was jump off a cliff. I realize now that there are stairs and elevators. I am learning every day to allow the space between where I am and where I want to be to inspire me and not terrify me. I can even ask for help! Not feeling that I have to know everything, and that’s where the growth comes in, in the not knowing.”
